Join us in May for the Jefferson Elementary Art Gala! This is a day-long event that celebrates Jefferson students’ academic, musical and artistic accomplishments from throughout the year. It also raises the funds to support art and music education at our school.
One hundred percent of the money goes directly back into integrating fine and performance art into core curriculum. We encourage you to invite grandparents, family members and friends to take part in this special event.
The gala includes:

Third- and fifth-grade students at Jefferson are fortunate to receive three years of instrumentation before they enter middle school. The Mario Music program is an individualized keyboarding program run by our music teacher, Mrs. O’Connor, and a team of dedicated volunteers.
Why Is Jefferson So Invested In MoSAIC (Model School Art Integrated Curriculum)?
Jefferson teachers believe students excel when provided purposeful, integrated curriculum through quality arts experiences.
Jefferson Elementary teachers strive to integrate the arts into standard classroom curriculum contributing to the aesthetic, perceptive, creative and cognitive growth of every child. Learn more here.
Jefferson Elementary educators know that students who struggle with verbal literacy are at risk for grave consequences academically. Aesthetic literacy emphasizes craftsmanship. As students create works of art and explore the artwork of others, they learn the importance of detail. They learn that painstaking care and patience pay off in the finished product. Aesthetic literacy teaches students that self-discipline is required to achieve success, a lesson that has the power to improve performance not just in the arts, but also throughout the curriculum and beyond.
